Outdoor Family Photo Session at Vergelegen Gardens

Mechelle chose the Vergelegen Estate as it is her family’s happy place. As a teacher, she knows that a beautiful garden with expansive open spaces is perfect for her grandchildren to play and release their boundless energy. Consequently, the children were excited to show me their favourite spots. I had scouted the location a few days prior to the shoot, allowing us to easily use their chosen spots or guide them to areas with optimal lighting.

The family’s favourite colour to wear is blue, which beautifully complemented the fresh summer garden. The different shades and tones in various parts of the garden added depth to the session. I am proud to say that the family photo of them draped on the tree trunk is now a large enlargement in their lounge.

We offer both studio and on-location family photo sessions tailored to your personal preferences. When deciding which option to choose, we consider factors such as family size, the age of the children, and their favourite places and hobbies.

I make an effort to ensure that all the children are photographed individually, as well as the families separately and together. To ensure we don’t miss any important shots, I encourage my clients to bring a list of their preferred photos to the family photo session.

It’s crucial that the look, feel, and vibe of the images reflects how my client sees their family. My goal is to provide timeless images that capture the joy of the day. Research has shown that children whose images are displayed in their parents’ homes feel more important, accepted, loved, and appreciated compared to those whose images are not displayed.
