Firstly, angelic baby Milan has what makes artists want to pick up their tools. Clearly he has the looks that inspired the great classic artists like Michael Angelo, Donatello and the likes of it to make the angelic cherubs we see today in the great museums and churches in Italy. maybe his parents spent too much time in Italy. As if this is not enough, they are blessed with a happy, friendly and easy going baby.
Proud Grandma, Ulanda booked this photo session for her family for an heirloom collection.
Secondly, the canvas backdrop was hand painted by Somerset West artist, Sue Slemon, on commission. My wish was for a backdrop that reminds me of the skin of an elephant, my favourite animal – not too dark, not too busy, but charcoal gray with a hint of warmness and brown. The wonderful outcome is how adaptable this backdrop it is. For example, with a slight change in the shadows it gives me the four different looks seen in the last added image at the bottom. Being a blue person, Ulanda like the second one. Which colour do you choose and why?
Lastly, I have being photographing his family long before Milan fell onto this earth.
